VOX POP
Excerpts from the 39th Annual Season (1994-95), all tracks recorded in live performance in five St. Louis churches. Most of the selections might be described as ‘music of the people’—folk tunes, plainchant, hymns and spirituals: hence the title Vox Pop[uli] or ‘Voice of the People.’ Many of these works have never been recorded before; this is the only available recording. All works are sung in their original language, including Czech, German, Hungarian, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and not forgetting English!
